A leading US law firm is looking to add an associate (2-4 PQE) to its Construction Disputes team in London. The team handles technically demanding cases arising from energy, infrastructure, transport and other large-scale developments.
The role will involve a broad range of complex disputes, working on substantial, high-value matters arising from commercial relationships, major projects and cross-border investments. You will advise on contentious matters arising throughout the lifecycle of major projects, from procurement and contract formation through to delivery, completion and termination. The caseload will include claims relating to delay, disruption, defects, extensions of time, payment, loss and expense, performance obligations and contractual termination.
The Candidate
The firm is interested in speaking with associates with 2-4 years' PQE (E&W or other common law jurisdiction) gained within a leading construction disputes practice.
Candidates should have strong experience of international arbitration or complex commercial disputes. Previous exposure to construction, engineering, energy or infrastructure matters would be highly advantageous.
Excellent academics, precise drafting skills and the ability to analyse detailed factual and technical material are essential.
