At Border to Coast our purpose is to make a difference and we’re currently looking for a Chief of Staff to partner directly with the CEO, helping to shape strategic priorities, enable organisational performance and deliver long-term value for 2 million members and over 5,000 local employers across the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to be close to the decisions that matter, working at the centre of one of the UK's largest asset owners, supporting the CEO and Executive Team to translate strategy into action and help deliver the next phase of Border to Coast's development.
Chief of Staff (to the CEO)
As Chief of Staff, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the CEO to operate at a strategic level and supporting the Executive team to stay aligned, focussed on organisational priorities, and effective in delivering strategic objectives.
You will act as a trusted adviser to the CEO, the role provides capacity and connectivity across the executive agenda. The Chief of Staff helps turn strategic priorities into action, supports effective decision making, and ensures progress against key objectives is visible and understood.
The role also supports engagement with the Board, Partner Funds, policymakers, regulators and other key stakeholders, helping to build strong relationships, create shared commitment, and maintain momentum behind the priorities that matter most.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and credible individual with a track record of supporting senior decision-making and working with Executive teams in a complex organisation.
The ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships is key, demonstrating strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the credibility to work strategically with Executive, Non-Executive, customer, shareholder, regulatory and strategic partner audiences. Experience in translating strategic priorities into implementation along with a track record of leading complex strategic initiatives is important.
An understanding of asset owner, asset management, financial services and relevant regulatory frameworks would be advantageous, but we but we are open to candidates who have built comparable skills in investment management, pensions, strategy, consulting, transformation or other complex regulated settings.
You will be a self-starter, with high levels of integrity, sound judgement and problem-solving capability
With a combination of excellent communication and influencing skills, collaborative style and the ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge constructively and bring people together behind a shared agenda.

About Border to Coast Pensions Partnership
Based in Leeds, Border to Coast is the largest LGPS (Local Government Pension Scheme) pool in the UK. It is owned by 18 Local Government Pension Schemes funds (‘Partner Funds’) which collectively represent over 5,000 employers and two million members.
