How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Ready to take your payroll career into Financial Services?

If you've built at least 3 years' payroll experience and are looking to join a highly professional organisation where you can broaden your expertise, this could be the perfect next step.

We're working exclusively with a leading international business seeking a Payroll Administrator to join a collaborative People team. While previous Financial Services experience isn't essential, you'll gain valuable exposure to a regulated environment, comprehensive employee benefits and a modern payroll operation—making this an excellent career move for someone looking to elevate their experience.

    The Opportunity

Supporting the monthly payroll cycle, you'll work closely with payroll and HR colleagues to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while also gaining exposure to a wide range of employee benefits and payroll compliance.

This is a varied role where you'll be involved in:

    • Processing payroll changes including starters, leavers, salary changes and statutory payments
    • Supporting the monthly payroll cycle with an outsourced payroll provider
    • Responding to employee payroll queries and delivering excellent customer service
    • Administering employee benefits including pensions, private medical cover, life assurance and salary sacrifice schemes
    • Maintaining accurate payroll and HR records
    • Assisting with payroll reconciliations, reporting and year-end activities
    • Contributing to process improvements and helping enhance payroll operations

    About You

We're keen to hear from payroll professionals from any industry sector, including retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, manufacturing, professional services or the public sector.

    You'll ideally have:

    • At least 3 years' payroll experience
    • A solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
    • Good Excel skills and confidence working with payroll systems
    • A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills
    • The ability to manage multiple deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy

    Why Apply?

    • An excellent opportunity to move into Financial Services
    • Gain exposure to payroll, benefits and HR operations in a highly regulated environment
    • Work within a supportive, collaborative team
    • Develop valuable technical knowledge and broaden your career prospects
    • Join an organisation committed to continuous improvement and high professional standards

If you're looking for your next challenge and want to use your payroll experience in a new sector with genuine long-term career development, we'd love to hear from you.
