How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Reporter, M&A :

    Location: London Bridge, hybrid

    Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

    Take the next step in your journalism career with a leading M&A intelligence provider, breaking stories that directly impact financial markets.


    This editorial team which produces primary sourced deal intelligence on the digital infrastructure market months ahead of the competition. They develop trusted relationships with senior leaders and dealmakers, regularly breaking news on market-defining transactions to provide actionable intelligence insights to their audience of investors, advisors and C-suite executives.


    The team is now hiring a Reporter to work on their APAC desk. This is a fast-paced, relationship-driven role, suited to someone who is passionate about building connections with people. You will be constantly talking to the market, pro-actively organising meetings with investment bankers, advisers and lawyers.


    This is designed as an early career reporting position, but demonstratable interest in financial journalism and the ability to build source relationships and scoop are fundamental. Applications from graduates with exceptional academics are strongly encouraged. You will be joining an an organisation with a track record of producing high-performing scoop reporters, making it a natural step for talented reporters.


    This is a London based role, with frequent opportunities to travel to the APAC region.


    Key responsibilities:

    • Following a thorough onboarding and training process, break off-diary news items on M&A and project finance transactions within the APAC region.
    • Build and maintain a strong APAC-focused source network of M&A bankers, advisers and legal contacts.
    • Work collaboratively with other reporters to break off-diary stories, and more broadly across the organisation to support its continued growth.


    Key requirements:

    • A demonstrable interest in financial markets, with knowledge of the contours of M&A deals, infrastructure investments and private equity activity.
    • Journalism experience, with strong writing skills and the ability to produce clearly written, sharp, reporting under time pressure.
    • A proactive, persuasive approach to sourcing and story development, and the confidence to engage senior dealmakers
