How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Project Finance Legal Counsel

Island Green Power is a leading renewable energy company developing utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the UK and internationally. As we continue to expand our project portfolio, we are seeking a Project Finance Legal Counsel to join our growing in-house legal team and play a key role in supporting the financing, acquisition, development and delivery of major renewable energy projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused lawyer with experience in project finance, energy, infrastructure or corporate transactions to work on complex, high-value deals that directly contribute to the energy transition.

    The Opportunity

Working closely with colleagues across Development, Finance, Commercial and Executive teams, you will support a broad range of project finance and transactional matters across our renewable energy portfolio. The role offers significant exposure to project acquisitions and disposals, financing transactions, joint ventures and commercial contracting within a fast-growing business.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supporting project finance transactions, including the structuring, negotiation and review of finance and project documentation.
    • Advising on and negotiating key project agreements, including SPAs, shareholders' agreements, joint development agreements, development services agreements, EPC contracts, BESS supply agreements and PPAs.
    • Leading and coordinating legal due diligence workstreams and transaction data rooms.
    • Supporting project acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and financing transactions.
    • Identifying legal risks and working with internal stakeholders to develop practical mitigation strategies.
    • Managing corporate governance matters across project SPVs and supporting company secretarial requirements.
    • Supporting transaction execution, compliance, KYC and audit processes.
    • Managing external legal advisers and contributing to the continuous improvement of legal processes and templates.

    About You

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

    • Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction).
    • Approximately 3-5 years' PQE.
    • Experience gained within a leading law firm or in-house legal team, with a focus on project finance, energy, infrastructure, banking, corporate or commercial transactions.
    • Experience supporting project finance transactions and associated construction, finance and offtake arrangements.
    • Strong transaction management and due diligence experience.
    • Excellent commercial judgement and the ability to work effectively with non-legal stakeholders.
    • A proactive, organised and solutions-oriented approach.
    • An interest in renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects.

    Why Join Island Green Power?

This is an opportunity to join a business at the forefront of the renewable energy sector and work on some of the UK's most significant solar and battery storage projects. You will gain broad exposure to high-profile transactions while working within a collaborative and commercially focused environment.
