We are working with a leading international law firm seeking an experienced Associate / Senior Associate to join its Leveraged Finance team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a leveraged finance lawyer looking to take on a more senior and visible role within a highly regarded finance practice. The team advises lenders, debt funds, sponsors and corporate borrowers on a broad range of leveraged and acquisition finance transactions, with a particular strength across the mid-market and upper mid-market.
The practice handles complex domestic and cross-border matters, including leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, unitranche and direct lending transactions, senior and super senior facilities, refinancings and recapitalisations.
The role
As a Senior Associate, you will take a leading role on transactions, working directly with partners and clients while supervising and developing junior lawyers.
The position will involve:
• Leading leveraged and acquisition finance transactions
• Advising banks, alternative lenders, debt funds, sponsors and borrowers
• Drafting and negotiating complex facility and intercreditor documentation
• Managing transactions from initial structuring through to completion
• Supervising and mentoring junior associates
• Developing direct client relationships and contributing to business development
The candidate
The successful candidate will have significant experience in leveraged finance, acquisition finance or a closely related banking and finance practice.
You are likely to be a Senior Associate or an experienced Associate ready to step into a more senior role. Applications are welcomed from lawyers currently working within leading City, international or US law firms.
This opportunity may particularly suit a lawyer looking for high-quality leveraged finance work combined with greater transaction ownership, client exposure and a clear opportunity to develop their career within a growing practice.
