How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Attractive salary package

    Full-time, permanent

Southeast based – Hybrid role – candidates must be able to travel to London Office

If you've already built a solid foundation in business journalism and are ready to take the next step in your career, this Deputy Editor role is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading B2B business media brands - insidermedia.com and Business Insider.

As Deputy Editor for the South East, you'll help shape content across Business Insider (print) and Insider Media (digital), working closely with the Editor to produce high-quality news, features, interviews and analysis for a business audience.

Alongside your journalism and editorial responsibilities, you'll build relationships with CEOs, managing directors and senior business leaders across the region. You'll chair round tables, moderate panel sessions at business breakfasts, and represent the brand at awards galas. You'll identify editorial opportunities and support wider commercial activity across the business.

This role is ideal for an ambitious journalist who is looking to broaden their skills and develop their career in a growing multi-platform business.

    We're looking for someone who:

    • Has experience in journalism, ideally B2B

    • Is confident interviewing senior business leaders and producing engaging editorial content

    • Enjoys meeting people and building professional relationships

    • Is keen to learn about the commercial side of B2B publishing

    • Is organised, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.

You’ll need to be based in the South East, with the ability to travel to our London office, working in a hybrid role. Candidates must have a valid driving licence.

This is a unique and exciting position that combines journalism with commercial responsibilities within a respected B2B media brand. If you have high levels of professionalism and real determination to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and a cover letter.
