How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Start your graduate career in a sector transforming the energy landscape.

Are you ready to turn your degree into a valuable career? At Vulcain Engineering we’re offering ambitious STEM graduates the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting and impactful engineering projects, helping to drive the transition to a net zero future.

Founded in the mid-2000s to specialise in energy and environmental projects, we are a global engineering consultancy operating in over 16 countries with over 2,700 professionals worldwide. You could become part of a team delivering high value expertise across major nuclear infrastructure programmes, including Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

Vulcain Engineering UK’s 2 Year Graduate Development Programme offers an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Construction Project Management Graduate at Hinkley Point C, working on-site five days a week.

Graduates are embedded within the Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC Team, where you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of critical construction activities. You will work closely with construction teams to monitor progress, track key milestones, review schedules, identify risks and issues, and help drive corrective actions to ensure project objectives are achieved safely.

The scheme combines hands-on project experience with structured training and mentorship to develop key technical, leadership and project management skills. You will gain exposure to stakeholder management, project controls, reporting, and construction delivery, while working towards industry-recognised qualifications.

As part of one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of major project delivery and build a strong foundation for a successful career in construction project management. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will have a clear pathway to a range of future roles within Vulcain, including Project Management, Construction Management, Project Controls, and other project delivery disciplines.

This is more than a graduate scheme, it’s your gateway into a rewarding, long term career in the Nuclear Industry.

This position requires attendance on-site at Hinkley Point C (HPC), working a five-day week, with weekend working as required.

    Why join Vulcain?

    • Make a real impact – you will play a key role in shaping the UK’s energy future and contributing to global sustainability goals.
    • Accelerate your career from day 1. We invest in your development with a structured programme designed to support you as you develop and progress.
    • Learn from industry experts – you will work alongside industry experts and gain exposure to cutting edge engineering projects.

    Your journey...

Your development journey will be adapted to your individual interests and needs to support, challenge and inspire you; you can expect:

    • A 2-week induction programme including your welcome to Vulcain, nuclear fundamentals, safety and key insights from industry leaders.
    • A structured 2-year development plan tailored to your growth and need.
    • Working on site at Hinkley Point C, gaining hands-on experience.
    • A dedicated mentor to guide your development.
    • Our UK-SPEC aligned training programme covering commercial Awareness, Risk Management, and Project Management, empowers you to grow into a well-rounded professional, developing technical expertise and transferrable skills.
    • Support towards achieving Chartered status.
    • You’ll automatically be included in the Vulcain’s Future Leaders (VFL) programme - a UK wide network for all new entrants.

    About you

You must hold or be about to complete a degree in Construction, Engineering or STEM related discipline (First or Upper Second Class).

You should be committed to a career with Vulcain Engineering. You should thrive in a varied, dynamic, collaborative environment and you must demonstrate:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Ability to question the status quo and continuously challenge existing ways of working.
    • Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Accountability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and use data effectively.
    • Flexibility and willingness to explore different opportunities and challenges.
    • Cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively within multinational teams.
    • Indefinite and independent right to work in the UK, due to the high level of security clearance required on several of our UK Nuclear sites.
    • Reside locally to Bridgwater or be prepared to relocate, as this role is based on-site at HPC Full-time and does not include travel expense coverage.

At Vulcain, you won’t just build a career, you’ll build expertise, confidence and a network that will shape your future.
