Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Fit-Out
Our client, a reputable North West Contractor, are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. The role will be delivering high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across Manchester and the North West.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS with a proven background in CAT A and CAT B office fit-outs, workplace refurbishments and commercial interiors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fit-out projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
- Assess and negotiate variations.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
- Produce monthly cost reports and CVRs.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, site teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining commercial performance.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience.
- Strong commercial fit-out/interiors experience (CAT A & CAT B preferred).
- Good working knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Experience managing projects ranging from £250k to £5m.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and commercial management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard QS/commercial software.
- Full UK driving licence.
