We're currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Fabricator Welder to join their established and growing steel fabrication team. About the Role
As a Fabricator Welder, you will be responsible for cutting, assembling, and welding structural steel components used in a variety of projects, including buildings, staircases, balustrades, platforms, bridges, and industrial structures. Working from technical drawings and specifications, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality fabricated products that meet exacting standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, including UBs, UCs, PFCs, CHSs, and similar sections.
- Carry out cutting, grinding, fitting, and welding activities to specification.
- Safely operate fabrication machinery, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
- Ensure all fabricated work meets dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to achieve production targets and deadlines.
- Wear and maintain the correct PPE at all times.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and workshop regulations.
Qualifications
A recognised Fabrication/Welding qualification is desirable but not essential.
Required Skills
- Previous experience within a steel fabrication and welding environment.
- The ability to read and understand engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
- Experience fabricating structural steel components.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to safely handle steel materials.
- A strong awareness of workshop health and safety practices.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
