Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm (9:30am – 5:30pm on Fridays)
Occasional flexibility to cover 9:00am – 5:00pm or 9:30am – 5:30pm when required.

About the Role
Owen Reed is looking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary for a top London law firm. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded Employment team, providing first-class secretarial and administrative support to fee earners in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
This role is ideal for a proactive and organised Legal Secretary who enjoys building strong working relationships, managing multiple priorities and delivering exceptional support to both colleagues and clients.
Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Secretary, you will:
- Provide comprehensive secretarial support to up to six fee earners, primarily within the Employment team.
- Prepare and amend correspondence, legal documents, emails and attendance notes through audio and copy typing.
- Support monthly billing processes, including producing billing guides, transferring time and preparing invoices.
- Raise manual e-bills and Money on Account requests.
- Assist fee earners and the finance team with credit control where required.
- Open new client matters, prepare engagement documentation and complete AML procedures.
- Prepare legal documentation including ET1 and ET3 forms, visa applications and other employment-related documents.
- Maintain accurate electronic filing systems and ensure client files remain organised throughout each matter.
- Coordinate busy diaries, arrange meetings and prepare Settlement Agreement appointments.
- Liaise professionally with clients, HR contacts, courts and other third parties.
- Prepare tribunal bundles and lodge documents with the relevant courts when required.
- Handle incoming telephone calls and provide reception support during busy periods.
- Arrange couriers, taxis, refreshments and other administrative requirements.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of one year's experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal support position.
- Previous experience supporting fee earners within a law firm.
- Excellent organisational and diary management skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and client-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive, flexible and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence using legal case management systems.
- Experience with billing, e-billing, tribunal documentation or employment law would be advantageous but is not essential.
