How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract Supervisor
    University of Bristol
    Full Time, Permanent
Competitive salary, private healthcare and flexible benefits

    Summary
NG Bailey's Engineering team has just delivered a brand-new, state-of-the-art building for the University of Bristol, and we're now mobilising the Facilities Services team who will keep it running. We're looking for a proactive Contract Supervisor to support health, safety and compliance for the contract from day one.

This is a great opportunity to help shape a new contract from the ground up, working closely with the Compliance Manager and wider operational team to make sure standards are met and maintained across the site every day.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

Supporting the Compliance Manager in embedding our "Safety First and Foremost" culture across every part of the contract.

Acting as a visible, hands-on presence on site, offering practical, day-to-day advice to engineers and operational staff.

Building strong working relationships with the client and site stakeholders, promoting collaboration and best practice.

Carrying out routine site inspections, audits and compliance checks against NG Bailey and client standards.

Supporting incident and near-miss investigations, helping identify root causes and track corrective actions through to completion.

Assisting with health and safety reporting and documentation ahead of operational meetings and client forums.

Helping coordinate toolbox talks and safety briefings across the site team.

    What we're looking for:
An engaging, safety-conscious professional who's comfortable being a visible presence on site and enjoys building relationships with clients and teams alike. You'll bring:

Proven electrical & mechanical experience in a critical environment.

Expertise in both commercial and domestic systems, with the ability to carry out PPMs according to SFG20 or equivalent standards.

    Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent).

HVAP knowledge is desirable, while LVAP experience is a plus.

Experience supervising reactive repairs and managing small projects.

    Benefits:
We're always evolving our benefits to ensure we're attracting and retaining great people. Some of what you can expect includes:

25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays with an option to Buy/Sell additional days

Pension with a leading provider and up to 8% employer contribution

    Personal Wellbeing and Volunteer Days

    Private Medical Insurance

    Life Assurance

Salary sacrifice car scheme (Hybrid/Electric Vehicle)

Free 24/7 365 Employee Assistance Program to support mental health and well-being (including counselling sessions and legal advice)

Flexible benefits to choose from inc: Dental Insurance, Gym Membership, Give As You Earn, Travel Insurance, Tax Free Bikes.
