How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    TEST HOUSE TECHNICIAN – Electronic Engineering

    This role is based on site, in rural Gloucestershire (Dursley area), so your own transport might be required.

    Required to be a good all-rounder with a basic knowledge or interest in Electronic Engineering. The successful applicant might not necessarily have a formal education in Electronics, but they will have a ‘can do’ attitude, a willingness to learn and great communication skills.

    This position provides training and, for the right person, career advancement within the field of Electronics Engineering.

    The Test House Technician is expressly concerned with the general and technical aspects of electrical and electronic engineering in relation to the company’s testing actions and procedures.

    MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    * To load & unload test lots pre and post qualification testing.

    * Daily checks & calculations (e.g. voltage, current temperatures, etc.) and record results where required in an approved format.

    * Setting & checking the set-up of test equipment for testing actions.

    * Test equipment calibration and/or maintenance actions & fault finding which may require a customer site visit.

    * Involvement in all quality control and quality assurance procedures & processes and assisting in maintaining the company’s UKAS (ISO17025) Registration.

    * Results reporting & approved format report generation.

    * To provide feedback on amendments required on test procedures and results sheets.

    * First line fault finding on burn-in boards and driver cards.

    * Perform data acquisition functions and on-screen configuration as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: All applicants are required to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a basic knowledge or interest in Electronic Engineering.

    * The ability to work with and operate electrical and electronic equipment including setting up systems and involvement in calibration, maintenance and fault finding.

    * An organised mind in terms of work processes and time management.

    * A practical aptitude and conscientious approach to problem solving and work scheduling.

    * Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and achieve objectives.

    * Ability to work independently and within a small team environment.

    RENUMERATION

    £24,784.50, Basic salary

    37½ hour week. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, with 45-minute lunch break and Friday, early finish, 8:00am to 12:30pm.
