How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects?

Conrad Consulting is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading independent construction consultancy seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing infrastructure team.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work on major capital investment programmes that are helping to modernise the UK's critical infrastructure. You'll join a consultancy renowned for its technical excellence, collaborative culture and commitment to professional development, with the chance to work on complex, high-value projects that will make a lasting impact.

    The Opportunity

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll provide commercial expertise across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects.

    Typical schemes include:

    High-voltage transmission and utilities infrastructure

    New-build and upgraded substations

Network reinforcement and capacity expansion projects

Civil engineering, cable installation and associated infrastructure works

Working closely with clients, Tier 1 contractors and multidisciplinary project teams, you'll be responsible for delivering robust commercial management throughout the project lifecycle under NEC contracts.

    Key Responsibilities

Managing commercial and cost management activities across major infrastructure projects.

Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and change management.

Preparing cost plans, budgets, valuations, forecasts and commercial reports.

Monitoring project costs, cash flow and financial performance against programme budgets.

Supporting value engineering and risk management initiatives.

Producing accurate commercial reporting and ensuring contractual compliance.

Assisting with procurement activities, tender evaluations and contract administration.

Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Providing guidance and mentoring to junior members of the commercial team where appropriate.

    About You

We're keen to hear from commercially driven Quantity Surveyors who have experience working on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.

    Ideally, you'll possess:

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.

Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, energy or major civil engineering projects.

    Strong knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.

Excellent commercial awareness with experience in cost forecasting, programme controls and financial reporting.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

A proactive approach with excellent organisational and analytical skills.

MRICS status, or aspirations to achieve chartership, would be advantageous.

    What's on Offer?

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nationally significant infrastructure projects while developing your career within a respected and growing consultancy.

    In return, you'll benefit from:

    Competitive salary, dependent on experience.

    Comprehensive benefits package.

    Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

Exposure to complex, high-value infrastructure programmes.

Genuine career progression within a growing consultancy.

A supportive, collaborative culture that invests in professional development and long-term career success.

If you're looking to take the next step in your Quantity Surveying career and want to be involved in delivering some of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you
