How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you an experienced SaaS salesperson who wants more ownership, greater earning potential and the opportunity to help build a new business function?

An established UK software company is expanding its portfolio of AI-powered SaaS products and is looking for a driven Business Development Manager to lead new customer acquisition.

This is not a role where you'll simply inherit a list of existing accounts.

You'll build pipeline, open doors, lead sales conversations and close new SaaS customers-while helping shape the sales approach as the business grows.

    The Opportunity

You'll sell a portfolio of AI-led software products to UK retailers.

The products can integrate into customers' existing technology, making them easier to adopt without a major systems replacement.

You'll be supported by quality prospect data, established sales tools, an external appointment-setting partner and experienced product specialists.

    What You'll Be Doing

Researching and targeting relevant UK accounts
Building and managing your own outbound pipeline
    Qualifying inbound and partner-generated opportunities
Engaging senior ecommerce, digital and commercial decision-makers
Running product demonstrations and discovery meetings
Preparing proposals and leading commercial negotiations
Closing annual SaaS licence agreementsAs you become established, you'll take full ownership of the new-business number and play an important role in how the commercial function develops.

    About You

    You'll ideally have:

At least three years' experience in outbound B2B software or technology sales
Experience researching accounts, building prospect lists and running outbound campaigns
One to two years' experience carrying a closing target
A track record of progressing software opportunities from initial contact through to signed agreement
Confidence communicating with senior commercial and technical stakeholdersExperience in ecommerce, retail technology, martech, search, merchandising or related software would be advantageous but is not essential.

    Package

    circa £55,000 basic salary
    Uncapped commission
    £80,000-£85,000 OTE at target
    Private medical cover
    Company pension

    Location and Working Pattern

This is a hybrid position based in the Nottingham area.

Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Nottingham and be comfortable attending the office two days per week.

Take Ownership of Your Next Move

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys winning new business but also wants to influence strategy, improve the sales process and grow into a more senior commercial position.

Apply now for a confidential discussion.
