How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Fuel & Engine Test Engineer
    Milton Keynes- Monday to Friday (onsite)
    £45-60,000 per annum

    Are you an experienced Fuel or Engine Test Engineer looking to take the lead on technically challenging testing projects?
    We are looking for a Senior Engineer with hands-on experience in fuel and engine testing to join a highly respected testing organisation. You will lead the delivery of complex testing programmes, work directly with customers and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, all while remaining technically involved.
    This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge propulsion and powertrain testing within a modern laboratory environment.

    Responsibilities
    • Lead and deliver fuel and propulsion testing projects from initial planning through to completion.
    • Develop detailed test plans to meet customer and project requirements.
    • Carry out hands-on testing using specialist laboratory equipment and dynamometer test facilities.
    • Analyse test data, identify trends and produce detailed technical reports.
    • Investigate test failures and carry out root cause analysis to improve future performance.
    • Work closely with customers, providing technical guidance throughout projects.
    • Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
    • Ensure testing is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

    The Person
    • Previous industrial hands-on experience in fuel testing within an automotive setting.
    • Strong understanding of engine or propulsion system test facilities.
    • Experience using dynamometers, sensors and data acquisition systems.
    • Ability to analyse technical data and produce detailed reports.
    • Experience leading or coordinating engineering test projects.
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience working in a customer-facing engineering or product development environment.
    • Previous mentoring or leadership experience.
