How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Data Specialist

    Bristol - Hybrid Working

    About Ecosurety

Ecosurety exists to rid the world of unnecessary packaging.

We believe in a future where every brand has the data and market insights to make smart, sustainable packaging decisions. To make that vision a reality, we enable the world's leading brands to make smart and sustainable packaging decisions through our intelligence platform and deep regulatory expertise.

We're at an exciting stage of growth, expanding our capabilities, investing in technology and developing new ways to support our customers in a rapidly changing regulatory landscape.

With around 100 colleagues and ambitious plans for the future, we're building a business where talented people can do meaningful work, challenge convention and create real-world impact.

    The Opportunity

Help some of the UK's biggest brands navigate one of the most significant environmental regulatory changes in a generation.

We're looking for a Data Specialist to play a critical role in delivering high-quality packaging and compliance data services that help organisations meet increasingly complex environmental obligations.

From Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Plastic Packaging Tax requirements to emerging international regulations, our customers rely on accurate data and expert insight to make informed decisions and remain compliant.

You'll work at the intersection of data, regulation and customer delivery, transforming complex datasets into meaningful outputs that directly support business decisions, compliance submissions and sustainability outcomes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and working with data that genuinely makes a difference.

    Why Join Now?

The packaging industry is undergoing unprecedented change.

As regulations evolve and demand for better environmental data increases, organisations need trusted partners who can help them understand, manage and act on complex information.

At Ecosurety, data sits at the heart of that challenge.

You'll join a growing, purpose-led organisation where your work directly influences how major brands respond to sustainability challenges while helping shape the future of our own data services and capabilities.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Deliver Critical Compliance Data

Collect, validate and process packaging and compliance-related data to support accurate and timely regulatory submissions for customers across the UK and internationally.

    Transform Complex Data

Use tools such as Excel, Power BI, Alteryx and internal systems to clean, analyse and standardise data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency, quality and reliability.

    Support Industry-Leading Brands

Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand data requirements, solve challenges and ensure compliance obligations are met.

    Improve Processes and Methodologies

Develop and enhance tools, templates and processes that improve efficiency, scalability and data quality across the business.

    Provide Insight and Recommendations

Help translate complex datasets into clear findings, recommendations and actionable insights that support decision-making for both clients and internal teams.

    Collaborate Across Teams

Partner with Client Services, Account Managers and subject matter experts to deliver excellent outcomes for customers while ensuring submissions meet regulatory requirements.

    Build Expertise

Develop specialist knowledge in key compliance areas, becoming a trusted source of expertise that supports both colleagues and customers.

    Drive Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve data quality, accuracy and reporting while contributing to the development of new services and data-led solutions.

You'll Probably Be Successful If You...

Enjoy working with complex datasets and solving challenging problems.
Have strong analytical skills and a naturally detail-oriented approach.
Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
Can explain technical information clearly to different audiences.
Enjoy improving processes and finding more effective ways of working.
Balance independent working with strong collaboration across teams.
Are curious, proactive and comfortable learning new systems and technologies.
Care about the impact your work has on customers and the wider environment.

We're Particularly Interested In People Who Have Experience With...

Advanced Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, Power Query and automation.
Data visualisation and reporting using Power BI.
Data transformation and workflow tools such as Alteryx.
Managing, validating and analysing large and complex datasets.
    Customer-facing or stakeholder-facing data environments.
Regulatory, compliance or highly structured data environments.
Packaging, sustainability or environmental reporting (desirable).

We'd Love to See Evidence of How You've...

Improved the quality, accuracy or reliability of data processes.
Used data to solve business problems or support decision-making.
Managed multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Built relationships with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
    Automated or streamlined existing processes.
Presented findings or recommendations in a clear and engaging way.

    Why You'll Succeed Here

You'll be joining a collaborative, values-driven organisation where expertise is trusted, ideas are welcomed and meaningful work is part of everyday life.

We believe the best solutions come from bringing together different perspectives, challenging assumptions and staying focused on the outcomes that matter most.

As Ecosurety continues to grow, you'll have the opportunity to influence how we use data, develop your expertise and help shape services that support a more sustainable future.

    Package & Benefits

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

In addition to a competitive salary, you'll benefit from:

    Up to 10% annual bonus
    7% employer pension contribution
    5x salary life insurance
    Critical illness cover
    Employee health cash plan
    Paid sick leave

Access to training and professional development
    Flexible working arrangements
Hybrid working, with colleagues expected to spend at least 50% of their time working together in person
    Modern Bristol city centre office

We focus on outcomes rather than hours or location, giving our people the flexibility and support they need to do their best work while making a positive impact.

    Equal Opportunities

Ecosurety is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

We believe diversity strengthens our teams, improves decision-making and helps us better serve our customers and communities. If you're excited about this opportunity but don't meet every requirement, we'd still encourage you to apply.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive a high volume of suitable applications. We therefore encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible
