How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Your new company

Our client is a leading national law firm with a strong reputation within the insurance and disputes sector. Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint a Supervisor to lead a team within its specialist recoveries practice.
This represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation lawyer with supervisory experience to move into a new and highly regarded area of law. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an ideal role for candidates seeking a retrain from broader insurance, defendant litigation, commercial litigation or dispute resolution backgrounds.

    Your new role

You will be responsible for supervising and developing a team of lawyers while ensuring the delivery of excellent client service, strong financial performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will provide technical support and guidance to fee earners, helping to drive performance and maintain high standards across the team.

    Key responsibilities:

Managing and supervising a team of lawyers handling litigated recovery matters.
Monitoring case progression and ensuring files are managed proactively through to conclusion.
Supporting lawyers with technical issues, strategy and case management.
Driving financial performance, productivity and utilisation across the team.
Managing performance, conduct and development matters where required.
Identifying and escalating client, compliance and risk issues.
Conducting coaching, mentoring and training to support career development.
Assisting with recruitment, onboarding and induction of new team members.
Working closely with senior management to support operational objectives and client service delivery.

    What you'll need to succeed

Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors and Chartered Legal Executives with litigation experience gained within insurance, defendant litigation or wider dispute resolution environments.
    You will ideally have:

Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with rights to conduct litigation.
Previous supervisory, mentoring or team leadership experience.
Experience handling litigated matters and managing claims through the court process.
Exposure to insurer clients or insurance-related disputes.
Strong dispute resolution and case management skills.
Proven ability to support and develop junior lawyers.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of financial performance metrics.
Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Candidates from recoveries, property damage, motor, professional indemnity, commercial litigation, credit hire, casualty, EL/PL or broader insurance litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

    What you'll get in return

Excellent retraining opportunity into a specialist recoveries practice.
Predominantly home working with occasional travel (typically once a month or every 2 months)
Clear progression prospects within a growing team.
Comprehensive benefits package including private medical insurance and income protection.
Ongoing professional development and leadership training.
    Supportive and collaborative working environment.
