How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Help Pupils Re-engage with Learning

Teach Now is looking for a resilient and relationship-focused SEN Teaching Assistant with challenging behaviour experience to join a primary setting in Harrow.

This long-term role involves supporting pupils whose behaviour may be linked to SEND, communication difficulties, emotional regulation or previous barriers to learning. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create consistency, reduce disruption and help pupils experience success.

The role requires patience, professional curiosity and the ability to remain calm when situations become challenging.

    Main Responsibilities

Providing one-to-one and small-group behaviour support

Building trusted and appropriate relationships with pupils

Identifying triggers and responding to early signs of escalation

Using agreed de-escalation and regulation strategies

Reinforcing routines, boundaries and positive choices

Helping pupils return to learning following an incident

    Supporting differentiated classroom activities

Recording behaviour, progress and relevant incidents accurately

Working with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral colleagues

    Essential Requirements

    Applicants should have:

Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEND

At least six months of recent experience in education, youth work, care or a similar setting

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

The ability to remain calm, fair and consistent

    Good professional boundaries

A commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing

The right to work in the UK

A thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

Training in Team Teach, positive handling, trauma-informed practice or emotional regulation would be beneficial but is not essential.

    What the Setting Can Offer

Support from experienced pastoral and teaching staff

Clear behaviour plans and established school procedures

Opportunities to develop specialist SEN experience

A structured and purposeful working environment

The chance to make a genuine difference to pupil outcomes
