How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
    Contract Type: Full-time Temporary Work
    Start Date: 1 September 2026
    Location: Harrow, London, UK
    Salary: £100–£120 per day
    Hours: Monday to Friday, term time only

    Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant ready to take on greater classroom responsibility?

    Teach Now is working with an inclusive primary school in Harrow that requires a skilled HLTA for a full-time temporary position beginning in September. The successful candidate will work across KS1 and KS2, supporting quality-first teaching, delivering interventions and providing reliable class cover.

    This Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit someone who enjoys variety and can move confidently between whole-class teaching, small-group work and individual SEN support.

    Your Duties Will Include

    Providing planned class cover across the primary age range

    Delivering focused literacy, phonics and numeracy interventions

    Supporting pupils who require additional help to remain engaged

    Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs

    Helping teachers assess progress and identify next steps

    Establishing calm, consistent expectations for behaviour

    Supporting the inclusion of pupils with SEN

    The Ideal HLTA Will Have

    HLTA status, a Level 3 qualification or equivalent school-based experience

    At least six months of recent primary classroom experience

    Experience leading lessons, groups or interventions

    Knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum

    A patient, professional and flexible approach

    Strong written and verbal communication skills

    The right to work in the UK
