How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As the Site Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    * Carrying out setting out and surveying activities in accordance with project specifications and design drawings.
    * Producing and maintaining accurate site records, quality documentation, and as-built drawings.
    * Supporting the Site Manager with the planning and coordination of daily site activities.
    * Monitoring the quality of works and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
    * Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team to resolve technical queries and maintain project progress.
    * Promoting a strong health and safety culture while ensuring all engineering activities comply with company procedures and legislative requirements.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

    * Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundworks projects.
    * Proficiency in setting out using Leica, Trimble, or equivalent surveying equipment.
    * A good understanding of engineering drawings, quality assurance procedures, and construction methodologies.
    * Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively across site teams.
    * A relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree), together with a valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence.

    What's in it for you?

    * The opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of infrastructure and groundworks projects throughout Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland.
    * A competitive salary, company vehicle or car allowance, comprehensive benefits package, and ongoing training and development.
    * Excellent long-term career progression with a respected Scottish contractor known for developing and promoting its people.
