How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are working with a well-established and highly regarded civil engineering and groundworks contractor to assist them in hiring a Site Supervisor for their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality civil engineering, infrastructure, and groundworks projects throughout the North East of Scotland. As a Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating site operations, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while supporting the wider project team.

As the Site Supervisor your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    * Supervising day-to-day site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification.
    * Coordinating site operatives, plant, subcontractors, and materials to maximise productivity.
    * Promoting and enforcing health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all site activities.
    * Assisting the Site Manager with planning works, monitoring progress, and resolving site issues as they arise.
    * Carrying out site inspections, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all documentation is completed correctly.
    * Liaising with clients, engineers, suppliers, and the wider project team to ensure effective communication throughout the project.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

    * Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, General Foreman, Foreman, or an experienced Ganger within civil engineering or groundworks.
    * Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and maintain high standards on site.
    * A sound understanding of construction health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
    * Excellent communication and organisational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    * SSSTS or SMSTS certification, a valid CSCS card, and a full UK driving licence. First Aid certification would be advantageous.

    What's in it for you?

    * The opportunity to work on a diverse range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland.
    * A competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for overtime where applicable.
    * Long-term career development with a respected Scottish contractor that is committed to investing in its people.
