How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

National Sales Manager – Water Treatment Home-based with travel accross the UK. Highly competitive salary, dependent on experience, plus uncapped commission / bonus and company car or car allowance.

Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are recruiting on behalf of their specialist Engineering company, specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of water and wastewater treatment solutions. They work with major water utilities and infrastructure contractors to deliver high-quality, innovative and sustainable engineered systems for complex water challenges.

    The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly driven and technically confident National Sales Manager to lead UK-wide business development across the water and wastewater sector. This is a pivotal, client-facing role where you will generate new business, manage key accounts and grow revenue by selling bespoke engineered water treatment solutions.
You will work directly with UK Water Companies, Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors and key industry suppliers, positioning as a trusted partner for infrastructure projects throughout AMP8 and beyond.
Please note: This is a specialist role. Previous, demonstrable experience within the UK water treatment or water engineering sector is essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop and deliver a UK-wide sales strategy to identify, target and secure new business opportunities across the water and wastewater sector.

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, framework managers and procurement leads within UK Water Companies and Tier 1 / Tier 2 contractors.

    * Target and secure opportunities within AMP8 framework agreements, helping to maximise our client’s share of industry work.

    * Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and site surveys through to technical presentations, proposal delivery and contract negotiation.

    * Collaborate with estimating, design and project management teams to translate client requirements into competitive, technically sound bids and tenders.

    * Monitor market trends, competitor activity and upcoming infrastructure projects to keep the business ahead of opportunities.

    * Represent the company at industry exhibitions, networking events and technical seminars

    What We’re Looking For

    * Proven experience in technical sales, business development or account management within the UK water treatment or water engineering sector.

    * An established network of contacts across UK Water Utilities and Tier 1 construction or engineering contractors.

    * Strong technical understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, pumping stations and associated engineered equipment.

    * Experience selling complex engineered solutions rather than off-the-shelf commodities or purely chemical treatments.

    * Confidence engaging with engineers, project managers and senior commercial stakeholders.

    * A full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK, including overnight stays when required.

    Desirable Experience

    * A degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business or a related technical discipline.

    * Direct experience working with or selling into AMP8 framework agreements.

    * Familiarity with NEC, JCT or other standard forms of contract, plus experience of tendering for major infrastructure projects.

    * Experience using CRM software for pipeline management and forecasting.

    Our client offers

    * Highly competitive base salary, dependent on experience.
    * Uncapped, lucrative commission / bonus structure based on secured revenue.
    * Fully maintained company car or car allowance.
    * Comprehensive benefits package including contributory pension scheme, healthcare, death in service and 25 days’ annual holiday, rising to 28 days, plus bank holidays.
    * Autonomy to manage your own national diary, supported by a highly skilled engineering and bid-support team.
    * Opportunity to grow with a market-leading business and help shape the future of the water treatment division.

If you have a strong background in UK water treatment sales and are ready to take ownership of a national growth opportunity, we would be keen to hear from you. Send your full CV to Louise at Sayjo Recruitment Ltd today
