How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As a SEND Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. By delivering high-quality, personalised teaching and creating an inclusive learning environment, you will support pupils to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

    Who are we looking for?

    A successful candidate will:

    * Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

    * Have experience teaching within mainstream schools, specialist provisions, or alternative provisions.

    * Have experience supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

    * Be confident in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.

    * Be patient, compassionate, and committed to building positive relationships that encourage confidence and independence.

    * Demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to learning.

    What to expect?

    Working as a SEND Teacher requires creativity, adaptability, and a pupil-centred approach. You will create a safe, nurturing classroom environment where every child is supported to succeed and develop at their own pace.

    You will:

    * Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes where appropriate.

    * Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to maximise achievement.

    * Foster pupils' academic, social, emotional, and communication development.

    * Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement, confidence, and independence.

    * Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents, carers, and external professionals to deliver effective support.

    * Create an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates every pupil's strengths and encourages participation.

    Benefits of Supply Teaching with Academic Appointments

    * Opportunities to work across a wide range of mainstream, specialist, and alternative educational settings.

    * Specialist divisions tailored to your career goals, including Permanent, Supply, Tuition & Intervention, and SEND roles.

    * Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available.

    * Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.

    What we need from you

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

    * Experience teaching pupils with SEND within a school or specialist setting.

    * Two professional references.

    * A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one (assistance available).

    * A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive teaching practices.

    If this sounds like the role for you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now or contact Chloe for more information.

    Rate of pay is dependent on current grade, experience, and payroll method.

    We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
