How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a well-established, market-leading membership organisation operating within the retail sector. They are seeking a talented and ambitious Marketing Executive to take ownership of their marketing activity and play a key role in supporting future growth.

    This is far more than a traditional marketing administration position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence marketing strategy, develop engaging campaigns, enhance member engagement, support business development initiatives, and lead on the organisation of industry events and trade shows.

    Working closely with senior leadership, you will be encouraged to bring fresh ideas, challenge convention, and make a genuine impact on business performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Marketing & Communications

    * Develop and deliver marketing campaigns aligned with business growth objectives.

    * Create compelling content for newsletters, marketing communications, prospecting materials, and press releases, Plan and execute promotional campaigns, including mailshots, advertising and member engagement initiatives.

    * Monitor campaign performance, analyse results and prepare regular reports for management.

    * Liaise with external agencies, industry media, members and suppliers to maximise marketing opportunities.

    Website Management

    * Develop and maintain the company website, ensuring content remains engaging, relevant and aligned with business objectives, Create website copy and oversee ongoing content updates.

    * Support improvements to the customer and member onboarding journey.

    Social Media

    * Create engaging social media content, including graphics, photography, video and reels. Schedule and manage social media activity across relevant platforms.

    * Increase engagement, followers and website traffic through proactive interaction with industry partners and stakeholders.

    * Optimise content for search visibility and audience reach.

    Events & Trade Shows

    * Support the planning and delivery of trade shows throughout the year.

    * Attend exhibitions and industry events, capturing content for marketing channels.

    * Lead the organisation of company events, including venue coordination, invitations, marketing campaigns and event delivery, Participate in occasional overnight stays where required.

    About You

    You are an experienced marketing professional who enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. You are creative, organised, commercially aware and excited by the opportunity to shape and develop marketing activity.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    * Minimum of 5 years' experience in a marketing and social media role, Qualification in Marketing, Communications, Social Media or a related discipline preferred.

    * Strong copywriting and content creation skills.

    * Experience managing social media platforms, including photography, video and reels.Website management experience, ideally WordPress.

    * Strong analytical skills and experience reporting on campaign performance, Proficient with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp and/or Brevo, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite and/or Buffer

    Personal Attributes

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Creative thinker with a willingness to introduce new ideas, Positive, proactive and self-motivated, Strong organisational and time management skills.

    * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    * Highly detail-oriented.

    * Customer-focused approach.

    * Eagerness to learn and embrace new technologies and software.
