How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Bid Writer

    A respected multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join its growing work-winning team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a confident writer with experience across bids, tenders and proposals to play a key role in producing high-quality submissions for public and private sector clients.

    The successful Bid Writer will work closely with senior stakeholders, technical specialists and business development colleagues to create clear, persuasive and client-focused responses. A significant part of the role will involve developing strong social value content, translating the consultancy's commitments into measurable and compelling proposals.

    The Bid Writer Role

    The successful Bid Writer will support the development of bids, frameworks, PQQs and tender submissions across the property, construction and built environment sectors.

    Responsibilities will include:

    Writing clear, persuasive and tailored responses for bids, tenders, frameworks and PQQs
    Developing high-quality social value responses aligned with client priorities and evaluation criteria
    Turning technical information into concise and engaging written content
    Working with subject matter experts to gather evidence, case studies and project information
    Reviewing tender documents and identifying key requirements, themes and scoring criteria
    Supporting bid strategy and developing strong win themes
    Writing and editing case studies, CVs, project profiles and supporting content
    Ensuring all submissions are accurate, compliant and submitted within agreed deadlines
    Coordinating input from technical teams, directors and senior stakeholders
    Challenging generic content and strengthening responses with evidence, outcomes and measurable commitments
    Supporting the maintenance and improvement of the bid library
    Reviewing feedback from successful and unsuccessful submissions
    Identifying lessons learned and opportunities to improve future responses
    Working closely with marketing, business development and wider work-winning teams
    Managing multiple submissions and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    The Bid Writer

    The successful Bid Writer will ideally have:

    Previous experience working as a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer, Bid Coordinator or similar
    Experience within property, construction, consultancy, professional services or the wider built environment
    Strong bid writing, editing and proofreading skills
    Experience writing social value responses for public sector or framework submissions
    An understanding of social value themes such as local employment, apprenticeships, community engagement, wellbeing, sustainability and supply-chain development
    The ability to create specific, measurable and deliverable social value commitments
    Strong written English and excellent attention to detail
    The ability to interpret tender questions and respond directly to evaluation criteria
    Confidence working with technical contributors and senior stakeholders
    Strong organisational and time-management skills
    The ability to manage multiple bids and tight deadlines
    A proactive, collaborative and commercially aware approach
    Experience using procurement portals and bid-management systems
    Knowledge of Adobe InDesign would be advantageous
