How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    People In Power is a boutique engineering recruitment business that works exclusively on providing highly experienced people into the Power, Transmission & Distribution market across the UK, building on 10 years of industry knowledge.

    Offering a full recruitment solution to Asset Owners, Consultancies, EPC's, OEM's, and ICP's from inception to final handover. Our exceptional service and comprehensive understanding of the sector has allowed us to build an unrivalled network of clients and candidates.

    We have exclusively partnered with a national Tier 1 EPC that delivers complex utility and power projects across the UK, looking to secure an Site Supervisor to join the Pre-Construction team.

    You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

    Working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams, you'll coordinate labour, plant and materials while maintaining excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders.

    * Supervising day-to-day site operations across utility and power infrastructure projects.

    * Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, plant, materials and equipment.

    * Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme.

    * Leading daily briefings, toolbox talks and safety communications.

    * Making sure RAMS are understood, briefed and followed by all operatives.

    * Monitoring quality, compliance and site standards at all times.

    * Ensuring permits, documentation and site records are completed accurately.

    * Carrying out regular site inspections and safety audits.

    * Supporting project delivery by resolving site issues quickly and effectively.

    * Building strong working relationships with clients, local authorities and other contractors operating on site.

    * Managing labour returns, timesheets and site reporting.

    * Promoting continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to improve site operations.

    You'll ideally have experience supervising projects within one or more of the following sectors:

    * HV or LV power.

    * Multi-utilities.

    * Electricity distribution.

    * Civil engineering.

    * Infrastructure or utility construction.

    We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

    * Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, General Foreman or Site Manager.

    * Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards.

    * Experience managing permits, RAMS, NRSWA and safe systems of work.

    * The ability to lead, motivate and develop site teams.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities on site.

    * A proactive approach to solving problems and keeping projects moving.

    * Experience working in customer-facing environments where maintaining strong client relationships is important.

    Desirable

    * Supervisor or utility network accreditations.

    * Experience within electrical or power network operations.

    * Knowledge of construction and utility installation practices
