Role Overview
You’ll lead the full purchasing function for a busy manufacturing environment, ensuring materials, components, and services are sourced cost‑effectively, delivered on time, and aligned with production demands. This role suits someone confident in supplier management, negotiation, and maintaining tight control over stock and costings.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Oversight — Manage end‑to‑end purchasing of raw materials, components, and consumables.
Supplier Management — Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and monitor performance.
Stock Control — Maintain accurate stock levels, forecast demand, and prevent shortages or overstocking.
Cost Analysis — Review spend, analyse trends, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
Compliance & Documentation — Ensure all purchasing activity meets internal and external compliance standards.
Cross‑Department Collaboration — Work closely with production, planning, and finance teams to support operational efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within manufacturing or engineering.
Strong negotiation skills and confidence managing supplier performance.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment.
Solid understanding of stock control systems and ERP/MRP platforms.
