Responsibilities and duties of the Solar Technician role
Reporting to the Regional Manager you will:
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of ground-mounted solar assets.
Test and inspect electrical systems, identifying faults and carrying out repairs where possible.
Liaise with specialist equipment suppliers to troubleshoot technical issues on site.
Complete daily reports detailing work carried out and site activities.
Perform fault finding on both AC and DC systems.
Ensure all work is completed in line with current HSE legislation and company procedures.
Supervise third-party contractors on site when required.
Participate in an occasional weekend call-out rota, with additional payment.
Undertake occasional travel and overnight stays as required.Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Previous experience working on utility-scale solar projects.
Level 3 electrical qualification.
ECS card is desirable
2391 Test & Inspection qualification is desirable.
HV Authorised Person (AP) status is desirable.
Good working knowledge of industry-standard testing equipment and electrical instruments.Personal skills
