How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Food Production Operative - Immediate Opportunities

    We are recruiting for Food Production Operative roles in Cambridge. You will be working for a leading food manufacturing company producing jams and conserves.

    Details of a Food Production Operative:

    Rate of Pay: £15.10 per hour for day shifts and £17.32 per hour for night shifts
    Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, rotating 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am shifts
    Location: Cambridge
    Duration: Ongoing

    Role of a Food Production Operative:

    Operating and taking ownership of production processes to meet business targets

    Working within a team to deliver high-volume production

    Monitoring the production area to achieve safety, quality, cost, delivery and performance targets

    Controlling production processes to ensure products meet legal and quality requirements

    Operating machinery and managing the assigned production area independently

    Following Good Manufacturing Practice at all times

    Following all health and safety procedures as a priority

    Ensuring products meet all specifications and performance standards

    Completing accurate production records to meet due diligence and traceability requirements

    Recording production activities, actions and ingredients accurately

    Requirements of a Food Production Operative:

    Relevant production or food manufacturing experience

    Able to commute independently to the site

    Flexible to work additional hours occasionally to meet business needs

    Comfortable carrying out manual handling duties

    Able to work rotating day and night shifts
