How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Seymour Parkes is seeking an ambitious and motivated Paralegal to join its highly regarded Family team.     The Opportunity

    As a Family Paralegal, you will play an integral role in supporting the team on a wide variety of matters, including:

    * Divorce and separation

    * Financial remedy proceedings

    * Private children matters

    * Cohabitation disputes

    * Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements

    * Domestic abuse cases

    * General family law advisory work

    Working closely with fee earners at all levels, your responsibilities will include:

    * Managing client correspondence and maintaining files

    * Drafting legal documents, court forms and witness statements

    * Preparing court bundles and supporting litigation processes

    * Conducting legal and factual research

    * Liaising with clients, counsel, courts and other third parties

    * Attending client meetings and taking detailed notes

    * Assisting with the day-to-day management of cases

    * Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm procedures

    About You

    We are looking for an individual who combines strong academic credentials with a genuine interest in Family Law.

    You will ideally have:

    * A degree (minimum 2:1 preferred)

    * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills

    * A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach

    * The ability to manage competing priorities effectively

    * A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

    * The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
