How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
    * A positive, resilient and child-focused approach.
    * The ability to inspire, support and develop others.
    * Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and sleep-in nights as required.

    Essential

    * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
    * Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards achieving it.
    * Full UK driving licence.

    What We Offer

    * Competitive pay of £16.25 - £17.78 per hour
    * Private medical insurance after 6 months' service
    * Company pension scheme
    * Employee Assistance Programme
    * Recommend a Friend bonus
    * Bonus following positive Ofsted outcomes
    * Two additional days of annual leave after two years' service
    * Fully supported Level 5 qualification (where applicable)
    * Ongoing training and professional development
    * Clear career progression, with a proven track record of developing Deputy Managers into Registered Manager positions
    * A supportive leadership team that invests in your success

    Why Join Us?

    This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new from the very beginning. You'll have the chance to influence how the home operates, help build a strong and supportive team, and make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people.
