How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Estimator

    If you are an estimator with a good level of experience under your belt and you want to go somewhere you can have more input then the job below may be for you. This is a pivotal role within the estimating function, with plenty of client contact and increasing responsibility.

    Electrical Estimator - The Role:

    This is a hands-on role with a responsibility for the production of Electrical tenders. You will have to breakdown client enquiries, organise or complete the required surveys and prepare detailed Electrical estimates, tenders and quotations to ensure that opportunities are being accurately estimated competitively, successfully and profitably.

    You will also support the Business in client meetings and estimation/tender presentations to help secure tendered opportunities. Using relevant industry experience, you will be expected to help develop and refine the estimation process to improve efficiency, clarity, and accuracy while reducing overall costs.

    The role will require experience with residential and commercial projects, typical values ranging between £50,000 and £5m.

    - Tender documents and preparing estimates as necessary

    - Managing the preparation of Bills of Quantities, sub-contract and material enquiries

    - Interact with clients in a professional manner in person

    - Preparing budget estimates and cost plans

    The Company

    The company you will be working for is very well known in the London market and has a lot of repeat business coupled with new clients being brought on board. They have an incredibly strong order book and are expanding.

    Electrical Estimator - Requirements:

    As an estimator you would be expected to have a solid understanding of Electrical estimating and previous experience in the construction industry, ideally as an estimator in a similar role.

    You would also have an established background in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Project & Bid Management allowing you to understand and interpret detailed Technical Works Scope documentation Identify, quantify and mitigate areas of commercial risk.

    You will also need the ability to plan workload for yourself with others to ensure delivery to client deadlines.

    The work is predominantly in the residential market so you would need to have experience in that sector as well.

    Remuneration:

    The role includes a competitive package of up to £65k (dependent upon experience)
