How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a CNC Field Service Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills who enjoys working independently across the UK

    Workshop Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering business with an excellent reputation for quality machinery and customer service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Field Service Engineer to join a successful team supporting customers nationwide.

    You'll receive two weeks of intensive training on joining, giving you a solid understanding of the company's CNC machinery and service standards, followed by ongoing technical development and support from an experienced Service Helpdesk team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Install, commission, service and repair CNC machinery at customer sites.
    Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
    Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
    Carry out preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
    Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
    Deliver outstanding customer service during every site visit.
    Travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays on larger projects.

    Skills & Experience

    At least 3 years' experience as a CNC Field Service Engineer or in a similar field service role.
    Background within the machinery or CNC industry.
    Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
    Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
    Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
    Full UK driving licence.
    Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away when required.
