How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Title: Finance Manager

Location: Swindon, with flexible hybrid working (2-3 days)

    Salary: £70,000–£90,000 + benefits

    Finance Manager – The Company:

Our client is a well-funded property development business with an ambitious UK-wide pipeline of specialist development projects.

With significant investment secured and a long-term growth strategy in place, the company is preparing to deliver a programme of high-quality facilities over the coming years. It combines the entrepreneurial environment of a growing business with the financial backing and stability required to deliver its plans.

This is an opportunity to join at an important stage of the company’s development, establish a robust finance function and work closely with the senior leadership team.

    Finance Manager – The Opportunity:

The Finance Manager will take ownership of development finance alongside responsibility for the day-to-day accounting function.

Direct property development funding experience is essential. Applicants must have previously worked with development funding facilities, lender reporting and drawdowns. General accounting experience without this exposure will not be sufficient.

This is a broad, hands-on and commercially focused position. You will manage detailed financial activities while providing insight that supports investment and development decisions across the portfolio.

You will also establish the processes, controls and reporting required to support the company as it grows. As the development programme expands, the position is expected to evolve into a senior finance leadership role, offering a genuine pathway towards Finance Director.

    Finance Manager – Key Responsibilities:

    *

Manage development funding facilities, lender relationships, reporting and drawdown requests

    *

Maintain development appraisals, financial models and project cash-flow forecasts

    *

Support site acquisitions, investment decisions and development viability assessments

    *

Monitor development expenditure against approved budgets, appraisals and funding requirements

    *

Produce monthly management accounts, board reports and financial analysis

    *

Prepare company-wide cash-flow forecasts, budgets and longer-term business plans

    *

Manage VAT, CIS and relevant statutory compliance

    *

Oversee purchase ledger, supplier payments, banking and financial administration

    *

Work closely with the Commercial Director and senior leadership team

    *

Provide clear commercial and financial insight across the development portfolio

    *

Establish scalable financial systems, controls and reporting processes

    Finance Manager – The Person:

We are looking for an ambitious finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with direct property development funding experience.

    You will need:

    *

Direct experience of property development finance and funding

    *

Experience managing funding facilities, lender reporting and drawdowns

    *

Strong knowledge of development appraisals, financial modelling and project cash flows

    *

Experience monitoring project expenditure against funding and appraisal assumptions

    *

An ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification

    *

Experience working within property development; residential or specialist-sector development experience would be particularly relevant

    *

A good understanding of management accounting, VAT and CIS

    *

Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders

    *

A hands-on approach, with the ambition and capability to progress towards Finance Director

    Finance Manager – The Reward:

    *

Salary of £70,000–£90,000, dependent on experience

    *

    Competitive benefits package

    *

    Flexible hybrid working

    *

Exposure to a substantial long-term development programme

    *

The autonomy to shape and develop the finance function

    *

A genuine progression pathway towards Finance Director
