How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor

    Location: Coventry
    Salary: £45,000- £55,000 + Benefits

    Join a leading offsite construction specialist

    Our client is a market-leading specialist in panelised offsite construction, delivering innovative building solutions across the education, healthcare, residential, commercial and life sciences sectors. Backed by one of the UK's largest construction groups, they combine the stability of a major contractor with the agility and innovation of a specialist business.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-3 years' commercial experience who is looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking business at the forefront of modern methods of construction.

    The Role

    Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you'll be responsible for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, helping to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.

    Key Responsibilities

    Procuring, negotiating and administering subcontract packages

    Preparing applications for payment, valuations and final accounts

    Managing project budgets, forecasts and cash flow

    Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risk

    Monitoring subcontractor performance and project progress

    Ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle

    Supporting the resolution of commercial issues and disputes

    Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams

    About You

    The business is keen to speak with candidates from a variety of construction backgrounds. Previous offsite or timber frame experience is beneficial but not essential.

    You'll ideally have:

    2-3 years' Quantity Surveying or commercial experience

    Experience working for a subcontractor or specialist contractor

    Education sector experience (preferred but not essential)

    Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

    Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

    A proactive attitude and a desire to progress your career
