How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Children Law Solicitor / Legal Executive

    Are you an experienced Children Law Solicitor or Legal Executive?

    We are searching for a passionate and driven legal professional with expertise in Private Children Law to play a key role in an established Children Department. If you're committed to delivering exceptional client care, confident in advocacy, and thrive in a collaborative environment, please read on.

    

    The Role

    This is an exciting opportunity to manage a varied caseload while making a genuine difference to clients navigating sensitive family matters. You will enjoy a diverse role that includes:

    - Advising and representing clients in Private Children Law and domestic abuse matters.

    - Conducting advocacy both in and out of court.

    - Managing your caseload using the Proclaim Case Management System (full training provided if required).

    - Supporting colleagues within the Children Department as needed.

    - Building and maintaining strong professional relationships through networking and business development.

    

    The Ideal Candidate

    Will be professional, compassionate, and highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.

    Essential Requirements

    - Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Children Law.

    - Proven experience within a Children Law Department.

    - Resolution Accredited and/or a Children Panel Member.

    - Strong knowledge of Legal Aid regulations and procedures.

    - Excellent advocacy, communication and client care skills.

    - Highly organised with strong file and diary management skills.

    - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

    - Able to work independently using your own initiative.

    - Friendly, positive and proactive approach.

    - Full UK driving licence.

    - Experience using the Proclaim Case Management System would be an advantage.
