SEND Forum Development Officer

Salary: £20,400 per annum (FTE £34,000), plus 6% pension contribution after 3 months in post
Location: Wallington, London Borough of Sutton
Working pattern: Part time, 21 hours per week — fixed-term contract until 30th June 2027

Role overview

Sutton Mencap supports people with a learning disability to lead fulfilling lives and achieve their aspirations, while also supporting families in their caring role. We're recruiting a Development Officer for a new project to establish a parent carer forum for families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Over the course of this one-year project, you'll help parents set up the forum as an independent organisation and ensure it delivers engagement activities throughout its first year.

Supporting parents to establish the new SEND parent carer forum as an independent organisation
Ensuring the forum delivers engagement activities during its first year of operation
Working with parents at every stage of the project, embedding coproduction throughout
Helping ensure the collective voice of parents shapes the delivery of local services
