Hays Education are working in partnership with a friendly and supportive junior school in Wolverhampton to recruit an experienced Year 5 Teacher for a maternity cover position from November 2026 until May 2027.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential. Planning will already be in place, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging lessons while adapting resources and teaching approaches to meet the needs of your pupils. The role also includes allocated PPA time to support workload and planning responsibilities.
Your new role:
Teaching a Year 5 class within Key Stage 2
Delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the National Curriculum
Using existing planning and adapting lessons where appropriate to suit the needs of the class
Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress
Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and support staff
Dedicated PPA time providedWhat you'll need to succeed:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2
Strong knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching
A commitment to raising standards and supporting pupil achievement
