How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you an organised Transport Coordinator who enjoys being at the heart of a fast-moving operation?

We're recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing UK manufacturer that supplies major construction projects nationwide. Due to continued expansion, they're looking to appoint a Transport & Operations Coordinator to become a key member of their Operations team.

This is far more than a transport planning role. You'll be the vital link between Production, Warehouse, Procurement, Sales and Transport, ensuring customer orders move smoothly from manufacture through to delivery.

If you enjoy variety, solving problems and keeping operations running efficiently, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that is investing heavily in its future and offers genuine long-term career prospects.

    The Role

Working closely with the Operations Manager and senior leadership team, you'll coordinate the day-to-day movement of customer orders while ensuring production, warehouse and transport activities remain aligned.

You'll be responsible for keeping customers informed, supporting operational planning and making sure information flows efficiently across multiple departments.

No two days will be the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily transport schedules, deliveries and collections
Work with production teams to ensure customer orders are completed and delivered on time
Liaise with drivers, customers and third-party hauliers regarding delivery schedules and operational updates
Assist with route planning and vehicle utilisation
Monitor production progress and communicate any changes or delays
Coordinate warehouse dispatch activities and ensure delivery documentation is accurate
Support stock movement administration and inventory accuracy
Maintain transport and operational records using internal systems
Act as the communication hub between Production, Warehouse, Procurement, Sales and Transport
Deliver outstanding customer service through proactive communication and problem solving

    About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys coordinating multiple activities while remaining calm under pressure.

You'll be confident communicating with colleagues at all levels and capable of managing changing priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.

    You'll ideally have:

Previous experience coordinating transport within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment
A good understanding of how production, warehouse and transport functions work together
Experience working with production schedules, customer deliveries and operational planning
    Strong organisational and planning skills
Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

    Desirable

Experience within steel, construction materials, heavy manufacturing or industrial production
Knowledge of warehouse operations and stock control
Experience using production planning or transport management systems
Understanding of transport compliance and legislation

    What's On Offer?

    £30,000 - £35,000 salary
    Life Insurance
    Health & Wellbeing Programme
    Cycle to Work Scheme
    Free On-site Parking
    Ongoing training and career development
Join a growing, financially secure business with genuine opportunities for progression
Work alongside experienced operational professionals in a supportive team environment
