How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance & Tooling Engineer

Lincoln | Up to £42,000 | Monday to Friday | 38 Hours | Finish at Midday Every Friday

Not every maintenance engineering role offers a genuine route into management. This one does.
This opportunity has been created to support an experienced Maintenance Manager as part of a long-term succession plan. Over the coming years, you'll work closely alongside him, developing the technical and leadership skills needed to progress into the role yourself.

If you've reached the point where you're looking for more responsibility, greater influence and a genuine career pathway, this could be exactly the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Working within a specialist manufacturing environment, you'll support the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of around 30 key production assets, including hand presses, hydraulic and air servo presses, rolling machines, crimping presses and dispensers.

Alongside planned and reactive maintenance, you'll become heavily involved in improving maintenance systems, developing asset knowledge, supporting maintenance planning, identifying critical spares and helping shape the future of the maintenance function.

The business is looking for a mechanically biased engineer with good electrical capability and a strong safety-first mindset. Previous experience producing risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work would be beneficial, but it isn't essential. What's more important is finding someone who wants to learn, develop and build a long-term career.

    We're looking for:

Time-served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification
Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing
    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience with PPM and breakdown maintenance
A proactive approach and genuine commitment to health and safety
Ambition to develop into a future leadership position
In return, you'll join a stable and growing manufacturer that values engineering, invests in its people and offers genuine progression. Alongside a salary of up to £42,000, you'll benefit from a Monday to Friday working pattern, a 38-hour week and an early finish every Friday.

Opportunities like this are rare. If you're mechanically minded, ambitious and ready to take the first step towards a future Maintenance Manager position, I'd love to tell you more.
