How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a highly organised administrator looking for a role where your work can make a genuine difference? We’re recruiting a Programme Assistant on behalf of a well-established, values-led charitable trust dedicated to addressing the root causes of conflict and injustice through impactful, grant-funded programmes.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation and play a key role in supporting the delivery of meaningful projects that create positive social change.

    The Role

    Working as part of a collaborative team, you will provide high-quality administrative and programme support to ensure the smooth delivery of a busy grant programme. This is a varied and rewarding position, offering the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to projects with real social impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Coordinating meetings, including arranging logistics, preparing papers and taking minutes

    * Supporting grant administration processes, including tracking applications and maintaining accurate databases

    * Preparing programme documentation, reports and correspondence

    * Managing communications with stakeholders, partners and funded organisations

    * Assisting with financial administration, including processing invoices and payments

    * Supporting events, consultations and wider programme activity as required

    About You

    We’re looking for an organised and proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Skills & Experience

    * Previous experience in an administration, coordination or programme support role

    * Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail

    * Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

    * Confident communication skills, both written and verbal

    * Strong IT skills, including experience working with databases and Microsoft Office applications

    * An interest in, or experience of, the charity, voluntary or social impact sector would be advantageous

    What's on Offer?

    * £20.98 per hour

    * Flexible, part-time working (3 days per week)

    * Remote/hybrid working arrangement

    * Travel to York approximately four days per month

    * Opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment

    * Chance to contribute to programmes that make a meaningful difference to society

    If you're looking for a role where your organisational skills can help drive positive change, we'd love to hear from you.
