How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Estimator – Nuclear Sector – Manchester

    The Role

    As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical engineering projects within the nuclear industry. Working closely with engineering, commercial and project delivery teams, you will ensure estimates are technically robust, commercially competitive and aligned with client requirements.

    This role offers exposure to major nuclear projects, providing an excellent platform for career growth and professional development.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical engineering projects.

    * Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

    * Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.

    * Produce accurate material take-offs and labour estimates.

    * Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.

    * Liaise with clients, engineers and commercial teams throughout the tender process.

    * Support bid reviews and presentations where required.

    * Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.

    About You

    To be successful as a Mechanical Estimator, you will have:

    * Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within engineering, building services or industrial projects.

    * Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation methodologies.

    * Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.

    * Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    * A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.

    The following experience would be advantageous:

    * Nuclear sector experience.

    * Mechanical engineering.

    * Building Services.

    * HVAC.

    * Process engineering.

    * Industrial or highly regulated environments.

    Candidates with transferable estimating experience from engineering, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation or other complex mechanical environments are encouraged to apply.
