How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Estimator – Nuclear Sector – London

    Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking to take the next step in your career within the UK’s expanding nuclear sector? We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team in London, supporting the delivery of high-profile nuclear engineering projects while benefiting from excellent career progression and long-term development opportunities.

    The Role

    As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical engineering projects within the nuclear sector. Working closely with engineering, commercial and project delivery teams, you will ensure tenders are commercially competitive, technically accurate and aligned with client specifications.

    This role offers exposure to prestigious nuclear projects and provides genuine opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical engineering projects.

    * Review technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

    * Produce accurate material take-offs and labour cost estimates.

    * Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.

    * Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.

    * Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams throughout the bidding process.

    * Support tender reviews and client presentations where required.

    * Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.

    About You

    To be successful as a Mechanical Estimator, you will have:

    * Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within engineering, building services or industrial projects.

    * Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods.

    * Excellent commercial awareness and estimating skills.

    * Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.

    * Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.

    * A proactive approach with exceptional attention to detail.

    Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

    * Nuclear

    * Mechanical Engineering

    * HVAC

    * Building Services

    * Process Engineering

    * Highly regulated industries such as energy, defence or power generation

    Candidates with transferable estimating experience from complex engineering environments are encouraged to apply.
