How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We're recruiting on behalf of a successful and well-established engineering business that has built an outstanding reputation for quality, service and technical expertise. As the business continues to grow, they're looking for a Customer Account Manager to become a trusted point of contact for customers, supporting projects from enquiry through to delivery.

    This isn't a cold calling or business development role. Instead, you'll work closely with existing customers, providing advice, preparing quotations, coordinating orders and ensuring every customer receives an exceptional level of service.

    If you've worked within engineering, manufacturing, construction, industrial distribution, or another technical environment, we'd love to hear from you but we are also keen to speak to anyone who just loves delivering the best in customer care!

    The Role

    You'll become a key member of the customer service team, supporting customers throughout the order journey and ensuring projects run smoothly from enquiry through to delivery.

    You'll build lasting relationships by providing accurate information, practical solutions and proactive communication every step of the way.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Acting as the main point of contact for customer enquiries via telephone and email

    Preparing quotations and processing customer orders

    Managing customer accounts and building long-term relationships

    Keeping customers updated on order progress and delivery schedules

    Working closely with technical teams and suppliers to resolve customer enquiries

    Recommending suitable product alternatives where appropriate

    Learning a specialist product range and developing technical knowledge

    Ensuring customers receive a consistently high level of service

    Supporting colleagues across the wider team to deliver an exceptional customer experience

    About You

    We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

    You'll be:

    A confident and professional communicator

    Organised with excellent attention to detail

    Calm under pressure and able to manage multiple priorities

    A natural relationship builder who enjoys working with people

    Positive, reliable and eager to learn

    Comfortable using Microsoft Office and business systems

    A proactive team player with a strong work ethic

    A full UK driving licence is required.
