Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected civil engineering contractor to recruit a Senior Estimator for its growing pre-construction team in Wakefield.

You'll play a pivotal role in securing future work across major civils and water infrastructure projects throughout Yorkshire and the North East, working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering quality projects and building long-lasting client relationships.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you'll take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to submission, producing commercially competitive bids while helping shape the future success of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing multiple tender enquiries across civil engineering, groundworks and water frameworks

* Reviewing tender documentation and assessing project scope, risks and delivery requirements

* Producing accurate take-offs and bills of quantities

* Preparing commercially robust estimates using Estimate software

* Obtaining, analysing and negotiating subcontractor quotations

* Working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners

* Leading tender submissions through to successful project award

* Contributing to business growth by identifying opportunities and adding value throughout the tender process

About You

We're looking to speak with experienced estimators who have:

* Previous estimating experience within civil engineering

* Strong understanding of civils, groundworks (plotwork’s, roads & sewers) and/or water infrastructure

* Experience pricing work under framework agreements

* Excellent commercial awareness and technical estimating ability

* Existing supply chain relationships across Yorkshire (desirable but not essential)

* A proactive mindset, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
