How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the warehouse and delivery operations while ensuring the business continues to operate efficiently and safely. You'll be actively involved in booking and unloading deliveries, picking and preparing outgoing orders, and keeping the warehouse tidy and organised.

At the same time, you'll take responsibility for stock control, coordinating drivers, booking couriers, and ensuring compliance with health & safety and quality accreditations. As the business grows, you'll also support the development of processes, systems, and people to help us continually improve.

    Top Three Goals

Achieve operational efficiency and accuracy across deliveries and stock management.
Maintain a tidy, safe and well-organised warehouse while supporting company profitability and customer satisfaction
Ensure warehouse and deliveries run smoothly every day, with issues kept to a minimum.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Hands-On Warehouse Duties

Book in, unload and check deliveries (from containers to smaller courier drops).
Detailed quality checking of printed products
Pick, check and prepare daily customer orders for dispatch.
Support drivers with loading vans and planning routes.
    Book couriers and arrange collections.
Replenish stock regularly to avoid delays in orders.
Carry out stock takes and investigate any discrepancies.
Maintain warehouse tidiness, safety and organisation.
Carry out daily forklift checks, book servicing and repairs for vans, trucks and forklifts.
Conduct racking checks and liaise with external inspectors when required.

    Operational Oversight

Monitor delivery accuracy and resolve any issues quickly, aiming to maintain <2% issue rate.
Keep spreadsheets up to date for courier/shipping costs, "Find Your Five" delivery performance, and packaging deliveries.
Maintain and manage stock and warehouse systems, suggesting improvements where possible.
Ensure H&S checks (fire alarm, emergency lighting, extinguishers, drills) are completed and logged.
Act as First Aider on site, keeping first aid supplies in date and records accurate.
Support upkeep of ISO9001, ISO14001, FSC, PEFC and Sedex accreditations.
Attend daily/weekly meetings, sharing updates and supporting the wider team.

    Development

Look for ways to improve efficiency and accuracy in warehouse operations.
Take responsibility for personal development and build capability to manage people and processes as the role evolves.

    Key Performance Indicators

Daily orders picked, checked and dispatched accurately and on time.
    Delivery issue rate under 2%.
Stock levels accurate and replenished without delays.
Warehouse kept tidy, safe and compliant.
Contribution to company targets through efficient operations.

    Experience & Qualifications

Hands-on experience in a warehouse or logistics role (operations/warehouse management desirable).
HGV licence and Forklift licence desirable but not essential
Experience using stock systems, couriers, and delivery processes.
Knowledge of health & safety in a warehouse environment.
Familiarity with accreditations (ISO, FSC, PEFC, Sedex) desirable but training can be given.

    Skills

Willing to be hands-on and actively involved in day-to-day warehouse work.
Organised and methodical approach to stock and deliveries.
Practical problem-solver with good attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for working with colleagues, drivers, and couriers.
IT literate (Excel and basic reporting).
Ability to balance immediate warehouse tasks with longer-term process improvements.

    Personal Qualities

You will be direct and clear with your approach to the role with a well thought out strategy and vision of what you wish to achieve, as well as possessing the drive to get there. Overall, you will be rational and follow the norms of the group, but you will always have an eye on achieving the end goal. Although you will possess the ability to make quick decisions they will be well thought and out to achieve the best outcome, as you prefer not to be criticised and will do everything you can to not put yourself in a position where criticism is possible through fault of your own.

You will always look to improve efficiencies and be full of praise for others when they help you achieve the goals set out.
