JOB SUMMARY

Metro Supply Chain UK is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our friendly team in Bedford.

Working Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm, you'll lead a small team of colleagues helping to ensure the safe, efficient and accurate delivery of day-to-day warehouse operations.

Within this busy role, experience in multi-contract sites and closed book accounts is essential.

This is a role for an existing supervisor looking for an exciting new opportunity within a friendly team with great leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and People Management

Provide first-line management and day-to-day leadership for the operational team.

Act as the senior Metro Supply Chain representative on the warehouse floor.

Train and support the development of team members in line with job descriptions, competency frameworks and skills matrices.

Provide management cover in the absence of the Operations Manager when required.

Operational Performance

Ensure all operational activities, including goods intake, put-away, picking, packing, labelling and despatch, are completed accurately and on time.

Monitor and manage team productivity and accuracy in line with customer requirements and service level agreements.

Optimise the utilisation of labour, equipment and operational resources.

Ensure stock records are maintained accurately and remain up to date.

Understand upcoming operational requirements and ensure appropriate resources are in place to meet demand.

Health, Safety and Compliance

Promote a strong health and safety culture across the operation.

Partner with managers and supervisors to implement health and safety best practice, investigations and corrective actions.

Ensure all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) inspections are completed before use.

Customer Service and Continuous Improvement

Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and challenges.

Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Build effective relationships with customer and supplier representatives to support operational efficiency.

Reporting and Communication

Work closely with the Operations Manager to understand priorities, requirements and expectations.

Produce regular operational reports, statistics and performance information as required.

Communicate operational updates, issues and priorities effectively across the team and wider business.

Customer Service and Our Way Culture

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

This is a role for an existing experience supervisor within warehousing or similar environments.

When assessing candidates we will be looking for:

Experience within multi-contract sites, with closed-book accounts.

Inbound and outbound.

High customer interaction.

Experience with Value Added Service.

B2B environments.
