How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Birmingham
    Salary: £50,000 Depending on Experience
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:00 - 17:00

    THE ROLE
    As an Experienced Panel Beater, you will be responsible for repairing accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer-approved standards, carrying out structural and cosmetic repairs while ensuring every vehicle leaves the workshop with exceptional build quality and customer satisfaction.
    Working as part of a professional accident repair team, you'll use your technical expertise to restore vehicles safely, efficiently, and to the highest possible standards.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Carry out high-quality panel repairs, panel replacements, and structural body repairs
    ·Repair damaged vehicle panels using approved repair methods, welding, and specialist body repair equipment
    ·Complete chassis alignment, panel fitting, and metal finishing to manufacturer standards
    ·Identify additional damage and communicate repair requirements to the Vehicle Damage Assessor or Workshop Controller
    ·Work closely with MET Technicians and Paint Technicians to ensure efficient vehicle progression through the repair process
    ·Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer repair methods, BS10125 standards, and company quality procedures
    ·Complete repairs within agreed production targets while maintaining exceptional workmanship
    ·Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, following all Health & Safety and COSHH regulations

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for an experienced, quality-focused Panel Beater who takes pride in producing first-class repairs and consistently delivering outstanding workmanship.
    ·Previous experience as a Panel Beater within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
    ·Strong experience in structural repairs, panel replacement, chassis alignment, welding, and metal finishing
    ·Excellent understanding of modern vehicle construction and manufacturer repair methods
    ·Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)
    ·Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
    ·Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment while achieving productivity targets
    ·Positive team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    ·Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction
    ·Full UK Driving Licence required
