How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Basic Salary comes with a 15% project uplift on top
    Plus a performance based bonus
    Plus subsistence when working over 75km from site
    Our client is at the forefront of the Sizewell C nuclear power station development - one of the UK’s largest and most exciting infrastructure programmes.
    We’re responsible for preparing the foundations of the entire site: designing and constructing cut‑off walls, retaining structures, soil improvements and more. Using advanced geotechnical engineering and world‑class construction technologies, this is a rare opportunity to contribute to a national project that will shape the UK’s clean‑energy future.
    The Role
    To provide support and advice to operational teams on all aspects of health and safety management, developing health and safety documentation, meeting legal, company and project standards and helping deliver a safety culture of continual improvement and delivering the highest standards. Understand the Clients and Regulators requirements to ensure their health and safety requirements are complied with and work with supply chain to ensure they meet their legal and contractual obligations. Support the site teams to eliminate, minimise and mitigate risk to protect the operational teams, project management, visitors and members of the public.
    What You'll Be Doing
    * HSE Strategy & Compliance: Implement the project H&S strategy, ensuring full compliance with legal, contractual, and organisational requirements, and maintaining alignment with codes of conduct and evolving regulations.
    * Advice, Support & Communication: Provide expert HSE advice and timely support to project teams, ensuring all enquiries are handled accurately and responsibilities are clearly understood and met.
    * Culture & Behaviour: Promote a positive safety culture across all levels, actively challenging unsafe behaviours and encouraging strong team engagement on HSE matters.
    * Planning & Risk Management: Support project planning activities, including risk assessments, method statements, and construction phase plans, ensuring all operations are effectively controlled and compliant.
    * Training & Competence: Deliver training programmes, inductions, and toolbox talks, ensuring workforce competence aligns with project requirements and HSE action plans.
    * Monitoring, Auditing & Improvement: Conduct audits, support inspections, and maintain oversight of HSE systems to identify gaps, drive continuous improvement, and ensure standards are upheld.
    * Incident & Hazard Management: Lead incident investigations, manage hazard and observation reporting, and ensure corrective actions are implemented, closed out, and lessons learned are shared.
    * Stakeholder & Site Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensure a visible site presence, support PPE management, and contribute to reporting for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
    What We’re Looking For
    Essential:
    * Technical Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health working towards Chartered status/ Member of International Institute of Risk & Safety Management
    * NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
    * Managers and Professionals CSCS card
    * A detailed knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance.
    * Construction and civil engineering industry experience and in particular CDM 2015
    * A detailed knowledge of the risk assessment process.
    * Effective computer skills; knowledge of the latest editions of Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
    * Good interpersonal skills
    Desirable:
    * Knowledge of major civil engineering and geotechnical engineering terminology and processes
    * Experience of deep foundations, piling techniques and processes
    * Internal health and safety auditor qualification
    * Experience of HAZID and HAZOPs and working through to delivery
    * NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
    * Accident Investigation Training
